His hands trailed after her as she stepped away, but something held his body back. He ran a hand through his hair, not worrying about the fact that it would be standing on end probably. He wasn’t really sure what was happening, what he should be doing, only he knew it wasn’t just stand there. Something told him to apologize, but for what he wasn’t sure. Something told him to go to her, and he almost listened to that part, taking a step towards her before something else spoke to him. This one told him to reel himself back in, that he had overstepped the bounds of propriety already. So he slipped his hands into his pockets and looked at the roof beneath their feet. “If that’s what you want,” he replied quietly.
